This four-week writing workshop will spur your creativity, open your senses to the natural world and inspire your writing. Through journal writing exercises, you will explore your relationship to nature and yourself. Specific writing techniques will be introduced, which are designed to foster self-expression and close observation of the natural world. Selected readings from contemporary nature writers will be shared and discussed weekly.
Recommended for adults. No writing experience is necessary. Space is limited.
About the instructor: Gail Lukasik is the author of White Like Her: My Family’s Story of Race and Racial Passing, the Leigh Girard mystery series, The Lost Artist, and Homeless In My Own Words: True Stories of Homeless Women. She’s taught writing at the University of Illinois at Chicago where she earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in English.
