This tracking
activity plays a vital role in habitat preservation and
restoration. Open Lands organizes scientists and volunteers to
monitor the behavior of different plant and animal species in
the field as indicated by measurable statistics. Population
sampling, distribution patterns and observable behaviors all
provide vital clues about the health of an ecosystem and
facilitate our adaptive approach to land
management.
