Science in Our Preserves

Current knowledge of natural communities and individual species is key to successful land management activities at Open Lands. Our professional staff participates in a variety of training, workshops and collaborative research projects with the Chicago area's leading colleges and universities. We take an adaptive approach that requires ecological monitoring, research and inventories. This work involves professional scientists, citizen scientists, students and volunteers.
