A Barking Good Time
Dogs share our homes and our hearts, but have you ever stopped to
think about when dogs became “man’s best friend?” It is estimated
that dogs have coexisted for thousands of years in some relation to
humans; keeping us company,
herding and hunting. Interested in learning about the
domestication of dogs and the connection of your friend, Canis
familiaris, to wolves?
Lake Forest Open Lands is hosting the Day of the Dog. Bring your
canine best friend for a program about dogs; a history of the human
– canine bond and the ways dogs communicate and perceive the
world.
After a short indoor presentation on reading your dog’s body
language, head into Mellody Farm prairie to sensory stations and
compare human and canine senses. Team up with your dog to play fun
games during our concluding rover romp.
Friday February 1st or Saturday February 9th from 10 – 11:30 a.m.
